‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Devon Surprises Hilary

He was devastated to learn that it’s unlikely Hilary will survive following the tragic car accident which already claimed the baby she was carrying. Now, as he comes to terms with the fact that she is dying, Devon will surprise Hilary with a plan for the limited time she has left on the Tuesday, July 24 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Devon (Bryton James) was devastated when Nate (Brooks Darnell) explained the condition Hilary (Mishael Morgan) had developed as a result of excessive blood loss from the accident was something that would kill her, barring a miracle. Now, the doctor, who went through a similar tragic experience with the woman he loved, will encourage Devon to make the most of the time he has left with Hilary on the CBS soap.

After convincing Nate not to tell Hilary the truth about her condition, Devon will start to try and make plans for making the most of their time together, even though Hilary will be certain that now that she isn’t carrying their child any longer, he will decide that their reunion as a couple has also come to an end. He will also break down when he’s not around her as he informs Lily (Christel Khalil) and others of the drastic change in her condition.

As he then begins to plan to do something special for the woman he loves, others will begin to hear about the accident in general and start to visit Hilary in the hospital. Everyone will be reassuring to her, as she laments losing her baby and the fact that she could lose Devon too. However, as he continues to hear her get emotional over his potentially leaving, he will decide what to do—and it will be a massive surprise that Hilary never expected.

After she receives all of her visitors, Devon will once again come into Hilary’s room, and he will tell her what he loves about her. Before revealing that he wants to help her in her recovery—as her husband. Hilary will be stunned as he produces an engagement ring and says he wants to marry her this week, but she will say yes since she loves him too.

However, as joyful as the moment may be, it will still be devastating for the pair as the reality of their situation eventually hits home.
