They enacted an elaborate plot to expose Adam by faking Victor’s death, but things have now backfired in a big way after he retaliated by framing Victoria for the crime. Now, the Newmans will need to consider their next move as they try to stay a step ahead on the Tuesday, September 24 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

As far as everyone in Genoa City is concerned, Victor (Eric Braden) suddenly died from complications he suffered due to the medication for his blood disorder. This included Adam (Mark Grossman), who has since panicked that he caused his father’s death after he changed the medication’s dose on the CBS soap. As a result, he set up a plot to frame Victoria (Amelia Heinle) for the murder instead—and she has since been arrested. Now, stunned that their daughter could take the fall instead, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) ran to Victor, who is actually still alive, fraught over the fact that their plan to frame Adam has gone horribly wrong.

Now, as they discuss the next step with Billy (Jason Thompson) and Victoria, who both also knew of the plot, the family will be divided on that their next move should be, because they don’t want Adam to know they tricked him yet, but letting Victoria go down for a crime she genuinely did not commit is also not an option.

“Victoria is caught in the middle,” spoilers reveal.

Billy, in particular, will be livid that Victoria could be heading to jail, especially because of Adam, but Victoria will likely try to talk him down and convince everyone that the best move to make is to still pretend Victor is dead, because showing their hand too soon in front of Adam could cause even worse problems. Eventually, everyone will agree it is for the best to try and keep the truth from getting out, but they will also likely try to find a way to circumvent Adam’s own manipulations in an effort to make sure Victoria doesn’t pay the price for the crime he thinks he committed.

Meanwhile, Adam will be wrestling with his own feelings about what has happened and will find solace in an unexpected source.

“Sharon (Sharon Case) stands up for Adam,” spoilers state.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
