‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: The Newman Family Secret Is Exposed
They’ve been keeping the truth about how their dynamics as a family are working a secret for a long while, but now, Nick, Nikki and Victoria may find themselves forced to start coming clean about their tensions with Victor on the Monday, July 24 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”
Ever since learning that Victor (Eric Braden) had partnered with Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) to frame Adam for Constance Bingham’s murder, inadvertently giving Chloe the opportunity to murder him later on, his family has kept him as distant as they could. However, the drama for Nick (Joshua Morrow), Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) hasn’t been tampered down at all because of their decision to try and cut Victor out of their lives in private on the CBS soap. After Nick’s attempt to sabotage the concert Victor organized for Nikki, the public façade where they all seemed to get along was wiped away.

Unbeknownst to Nick, his altercation with Victor in a parking garage after the event was caught on camera by Hilary (Mishael Morgan), and much to her surprise, Victor gave her the all-clear to air it all during her show on GC Buzz. Now, as the Newmans watch in horror, their big secret will play out on TV.
The taped footage, which shows Nick calling Victor arrogant and heartless before his father punches him in the face will air on Hilary’s show, and she will immediately call the Newmans out for their hypocrisy after showing the footage as well.
“It looks like father and son have a very different relationship from what they show the public,” she says in a preview clip, as Nikki, Victoria and Nick watch in horror.
Now, the Newmans will realize that their big secret is truly out there and exposed, and everyone else in town will officially know that they’ve been hiding the truth about their tensions with Victor for some time. However, despite the situation deteriorating to a point where Nick has been disowned and Victor has decided his marriage to Nikki is over, they will still likely try and protect the part of the truth that wasn’t exposed, which involves the truth about Adam’s murder.

Not only is keeping that part of the story quiet crucial to keep them all out of prison at this point for withholding facts from the police, but it is also crucial because of how it could affect them in other ways as well. Since Adam’s death, Nick has gotten into a relationship with Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan), and if she were to learn that he knew who helped Chloe kill Adam, she would never forgive him.
Determined to make sure that at least a part of their secret is safe, Nick will decide to take it upon himself to confront Hilary about airing the footage. However, that decision could only make things worse instead, because it will make things seem even more suspicious and potentially cause her to dig even deeper into their family secrets.
“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
