‘Younger’ Season 3 Finale: What’s In Store For Season 4 After Liza’s Revelation?

“Younger” Season 3 has already ended, and it finally answered the show’s biggest question after Liza (Sutton Foster) revealed her secret.

In the one-hour finale of the TVLand series, Liza told Kelsey (Hilary Duff) that she’s not really 26 years old. Fans of the series have wondered when Liza would finally come clean for the past several episodes. Now that the secret is out, however, more questions arise. One of the many pressing issues that need to be answered is how the revelation will affect Liza and Kelsey’s friendship.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, "Younger" executive producer Darren Star said the truth will greatly affect the friends’ relationship, and how they will interact after this will be a big part of Season 4.

“That’s what we’re thinking about right now. We do have some ideas, but those are definitely the stories for next season and I think it’s going to spin the show in a different direction a little bit, in terms of where the characters are going,” Star said. “The big question mark is how is Kelsey going to react to this news and how does she process it?”

While Star is still toying with ideas, Duff already has a hunch on how her character would react to the news. In an interview with Vulture, Duff said: “I don’t think she’s going to respond well to it. I think it’s going to be a big shock and she’s going to be hurt. But you never know. Kelsey sometimes surprises me right when I think I know her so well.”

“Younger” has been renewed for Season 4, according to Variety. The show was picked up for a fourth run before its third season premiered.

Speaking of the decision to pick up the show, TVLand executive vice president for development and original programming Keith Cox said: “The show is a force in and of itself, so it’s a no-brainer to renew it again. Critics and fans love it, and I know Darren and the entire cast and crew behind ‘Younger’ will continue to deliver at the top of their game.”

“Younger” Season 4 has not yet been given a premiere date.
