Zedd Shares The Bad Side Of Dating ‘Bad Liar’ Singer Selena Gomez

Most would surely think that dating singer/actress Selena Gomez would be a great experience. While that could be true, it comes with a price. Zedd, who dated the “Bad Liar” singer in 2015, admitted that he wasn’t prepared when his romance with Gomez went public.

“Reporters were calling my parents. People were hacking my friends’ phones. I was [explicit], [though] I kind of knew what I was getting myself into,” Zedd, 27, told Billboard. “She is one of the most talked about people in the world, but I had no idea how much that would change my life.”

The romantic rumors involving Zedd and Gomez sparked in January 2015 when the two were spotted holding hands at the Golden Globes after party. At the time, a source denied that they were dating and stressed that the DJ and the singer were only collaborating on a new album.

“They are working together on her new album, so yeah, they have become close,” one insider told Us Weekly. “It’s nothing but a close friendship so far.” Zedd’s song “I Want You To Know” featuring Gomez went on to reach No. 17 on the Hot 100 in March of that year.

The insider added that at that time, Gomez signed with DJ Zedd’s label, Interscope Records. The multi-millionaire was producing multiple tracks of Gomez’s 2015 album. Zedd already worked with big artists like Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, whom he collaborated with on a massive hit “Break Free.”

Despite the insider’s denial, Gomez and Zedd were obviously smitten with each other. On Jan. 18, 2015, Zedd shared a snapshot of him on Instagram, FaceTiming with the “Hands to Myself” singer while she was still in bed. “‘Oh hi derrling...’ - The Room #TheRoom #theRoom #THEroom #theROOM,” he wrote in the caption.

On the same day, Gomez also shared a selfie with Zedd on the background on her Instagram account. Her caption read, “missing la and this punk, just a little tonight shooting starts soon!! Eeeeekkkk --Fundamentals of Caregiving!!”

According to Us Weekly, it was not clear when the pair parted ways. Gomez is currently dating The Weeknd. On the other hand, Zedd refused to share details about his current dating status.
