Actress-musician Zooey Deschanel and her husband Ben Gibbard, lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie, have decided to end their marriage, the actress's rep confirmed to Us Magazine.
Deschanel, who rose to fame as the young protagonist of Almost Famous, married Gibbard, member of several successful indie rock bands, in September 2009.
It was mutual and amicable. There was no third party involved, Deschanel's rep said.
Ben, who also fronts the band She and Him with Zooey, said in September that he thought of his wife as very beautiful.
I'd seen her movies and obviously I thought she was very beautiful. [When we were introduced] I was awestruck that she was even talking to me! Gibbard said.
