FBI Agent Seeley Booth is full of rage.

Last season of Fox series “Bones” ended on a bleak note. Booth (David Boreanaz) discovered that his wife, Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel), has been kidnapped by former squintern Zack Addy (Eric Millegan). It seemed like Zack is the notorious serial killer known as The Puppeteer, but no confirmation or explanation was provided in the final moments of the season finale.

Fox has released a teaser trailer of “Bones” Season 12 which shows Booth full of rage. “She’s missing,” the FBI Agent is heard saying in the video, “He took her and he’s going to kill her. We’re not done here. I’m going to get my family back.” He is convinced that Zack will kill Brennan.

Of course, “Bones” fans know all too well that it won’t happen. In fact, it is not even certain that Zack is The Puppeteer. Nevertheless, there is no denying that the forensic anthropologist is in grave danger.

The video also serves as a trip down memory lane for long-time fans of the TV show. The 40-second video blends different moments of the past seasons of “Bones” with the final moments of the last one. It shows Zack telling his former boss that they have a lot to talk about.

The final season of “Bones” is set to air in 2017 and will see the storylines of the Jeffersonian-FBI team members come to an end. Many fan-favorite characters are returning, including Dr. Beth Mayer (Betty White), chef Gordon Wyatt (Stephen Fry) and Eddie McClintock (Sully). Veteran actors Ed Asner and Hal Hoolbrook are also appearing in guest roles.

Season 12 will also feature a wedding – which can be assumed will be Cam (Tamara Taylor) and Arastoo’s (Pej Vahdat) – an epic serial killer storyline (The Puppeteer) and an undercover mission in a lumberjack competition.

“Bones” Season 12 premieres on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
