11-Month-Old Infant Girl Found With Methamphetamine In Her System, Mother Arrested
A woman was charged and arrested after her infant daughter was found under the influence of methamphetamine. The incident took place at San Bernardino, California, on Friday.
The accused, identified as 39-year-old Lisa Galindo, was arrested after authorities found meth in the baby’s system. On Sunday, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department released a statement mentioning that the woman was apprehended by a specialized unit following an investigation.
It was reported that the deputies from Highland station and the Crimes Against Children division had found drug paraphernalia at her residence during the investigation.
According to authorities, the 11-month-old girl was taken into the custody of Children and Family Services. The baby was expected to recover.
Meanwhile, the mother was arrested on charges of willful child endangerment for failing to protect her child. She was being held at Central Detention Center in San Bernardino for a bail of $100,000.
In a similar incident in January, a Virginia woman was arrested after her three-month-old baby was found dead with methamphetamines in her system. A deputy officer had responded to an emergency call about a three-month-old baby in distress. When the officer arrived at the scene, the infant’s grandfather was trying to provide CPR to the child. However, the baby could not be saved and was pronounced dead. The accused, identified as 24-year-old Lurissa Rynea Keyes, from Spotsylvania had told police that she gave the baby a bottle the night before and had woken up to find the baby unresponsive. She was charged with felony child neglect and felony child endangerment.
