12-Year-Old Boy Dies After Mobile Battery Explodes On His Face
A 12-year-old boy in India, who charged his phone's battery with a jadoo mobile battery charger, has died after the battery exploded on his face.
The incident took place in Mirzapur, a district in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh on Friday morning, reported Times Now News. The boy, identified as Monu, charged his phone's battery with the jadoo mobile battery charger to test the cell's power. An hour later, he decided to check the battery's power by touching the cell with his tongue. While doing so, the battery exploded on his face, leaving him with severe facial injuries.
Upon hearing the loud explosion, the boy's family members rushed to his bedroom. They found the boy, who was a grade 6 student, lying in a pool of blood and with severe injuries on his face. They rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival by the doctor, news agency IANS said in a report.
Following this, the family silently took the boy back home and conducted the last rites without informing the authorities about the incident. The reason behind this was not clear. The brand of the jadoo charger and the phone was not known.
Jadoo mobile battery charger is a universal charger that can charge any cell phone battery, regardless of the battery's size. It can also charge camera batteries. One needs to take out the battery from the phone or camera and directly insert it into the jadoo charger and plug the device into a socket. The red indicator turns green when the battery is fully charged.
