2 Chainz Arrested In Oklahoma City After Standoff With Police; Drugs Found On Tour Bus, Report Says
Rapper 2 Chainz was arrested in Oklahoma on Wednesday after allegedly interfering with a police investigation into suspected drug use on his tour bus.
2 Chainz, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, was on his tour bus when Oklahoma City police allegedly pulled the vehicle over because its taillights were out, TMZ reports. When authorities approached the bus, they reportedly observed evidence of drug use and tried to enter the bus.
Instead, the driver of 2 Chainz’ tour bus allegedly locked the vehicle’s door and refused to let police enter until they obtained a warrant, TMZ reports. Authorities allegedly towed the tour bus to a local police facility, with 2 Chainz and his entourage still inside.
Police managed to obtain a search warrant and used it to enter the tour bus, Oklahoma City television station News 9 reports. The 11 individuals who refused to exit the vehicle, including 2 Chainz, were placed under arrest and charged with “interfering with the police process,” TMZ reports.
Oklahoma City police initially declined to say if they had discovered any illegal drugs during their search of the tour bus. However, sources reportedly told TMZ on Thursday that drugs were indeed found on the bus, but authorities declined to say which type or quantity of the substance was found.
2 Chainz took to Twitter on Thursday afternoon to respond to the news of his arrest. “This s--- will make u go crazy, our bus gets pulled 1 a week and they always say I smell weed I need to search ur bus. S---gets tiring [sic],” he tweeted.
This isn’t the first time that 2 Chainz has run into trouble with the law this year. The 35-year-old rapper was arrested in June for possession of Promethazine, an illegal narcotic.
