3-Year-Old Raped, Beheaded After Being Kidnapped, Body Found In Plastic Bag
In a horrific incident, a 3-year-old girl was gang-raped and beheaded by two men after she was abducted from a train station in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand. Local media reports said the incident took place at the Tatanagar railway station on July 26.
Police said Wednesday that the child's torso was recovered from a plastic bag and a search was underway to locate the head of the girl. Three people, including the two main accused, were arrested Wednesday.
Surveillance footage from the night of the incident showed a man walking with the sleeping child in his arms. The man, identified as Rinku Saha, was recently released from prison after being jailed for kidnapping and attempting to murder a child in 2015.
The 3-year-old's mother, a divorcee, reportedly told police she suspected her partner was also involved in the crime. He was the third person to be arrested in the case, local media reported.
After her daughter went missing, the woman filed a police complaint saying the man with whom she had fled from her home was connected to the child's disappearance. The two accused, in their 30s, confessed that they beheaded the girl after raping and strangulating the girl to death.
