The Fourth of July wasn’t the only reason for fireworks going off this week on “Days of Our Lives,” “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

The skies might have been lighting up with bold fireworks in Salem, Genoa City and Los Angeles as everyone celebrated the July Fourth holiday, but they couldn’t possibly compare to the fiery explosions down on the ground below. From the shocking twists and reveals to the jaw-dropping surprises, here are the five biggest things that happened during the week of July 1.

Claire’s Secret Was Officially Revealed

After a plan to trap her into confessing to setting the fires went awry, Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan)’s reign of terror finally came to an end. After assaulting Tripp (Lucas Adams) and kidnapping Ciara (Victoria Konefal) to bring her back to the cabin one more time, Claire planned to end both of their lives. She was stopped in the end after Ben (Robert Scott Wilson), Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) showed up, and now, Claire is sedated in the hospital and under observation.

Chelsea Revealed Why She Came Back To Genoa City

After shocking Adam (Marc Grossman) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) by revealing she was back in town, Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan) revealed she was there for one specific purpose, and that was to make sure her former husband was informed in person that she had no intention of ever reuniting with him again and that she was happy with her current marriage. However, despite her intentions, things didn’t go the way Chelsea hoped they would in the end.

Chelsea Found Unexpected Trouble

After Calvin (John Burke) also came to town to follow her, Chelsea was appalled when she learned he had met with Adam and now believed they should let him have custody of Connor. After a heated argument, however, things went horribly wrong—and Chelsea was forced to call 911 after her husband unexpectedly died.

“Bold And The Beautiful” (CBS)

Liam Slept With Steffy

After being drugged by Thomas (Matthew Atkinson), Liam (Scott Clifton) made a shocking move by kissing Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), and the two quickly wound up in bed together. Afterward, he seemed to regret what happened and went to reveal the truth to Hope (Annika Noelle), and unfortunately, even though he still loves her, knowing he moved on with Steffy so quickly seemed to do more harm to Hope than it did good.

Thomas Proposed To Hope

Meanwhile, in his quest to get Hope for himself, Thomas also used Liam’s hook-up with Steffy to his advantage-getting Hope to believe that Liam was finally over her in the end. He then made his next move, by getting Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri) to propose to her and ask her to marry his father, so she could be his mother. Hope was shocked—but has notably not said yes or no just yet.
