5 Royal Rules Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Continue To Break
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have broken a number of royal rules since they started dating.
The Duchess of Sussex is known for violating the royal protocol. However, she's not alone in breaking the rules as her husband, Prince Harry, also did the same in several instances.
Here are the five royal rules that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have broken, according to E! News.
1. Sharing political opinions
Royals are discouraged from sharing their political opinion. However, when Markle's dad appeared on "Good Morning Britain," he shared a personal conversation with the duke.
According to Thomas Markle Sr., the Duke of Sussex is "open to the experiment" of England extricating itself from the European Union. He also said that Prince Harry advised him to give U.S. President Donald Trump a chance.
2. Showing some skin
The women of the royal family are known to dress modestly, so Markle surprised many when she wore an off-the-shoulder dress for her balcony debut. Some found it too revealing for a royal.
"It's very unusual to see a member of the royal household baring her shoulders," Mark Heyes said. "Especially at a daytime event like that. It's not that it's not allowed, but maybe it's a sign of things to come."
3. Letting Markle wear trousers
The Duchess of Sussex has worn black pants on several occasions. For instance, she wore a Givenchy suit during her evening debut at Endeavour Fund Awards in February. According to previous reports, Markle caused a boost in the popularity of black trousers.
However, just recently, an insider claimed that Prince Harry turned down Markle's request to wear pants for their tour in Australia. "Meghan is being told she needs to stop dressing like a Hollywood star and start dressing like a Royal. Meghan wanted to wear a tuxedo-style suit but Harry said it wasn't traditional enough," the sourced said.
4. Use of cross body bag
Royal women usually use a purse when they attend events or make appearances to avoid shaking hands. This is reportedly the reason Kate Middleton always uses one. However, Markle has been seen using cross body bags a number of times. In fact, she wore a bottle green Strathberry East/West cross body bag when she joined Prince Harry in Scotland.
5. Public display of affection
Prince Harry and Markle are both touchy-feely. The couple loves to hold hands and touch each other. There was one instance when the Duke of Sussex seemed to decline to hold his wife's hand, but most of the time, they are not afraid to show off PDA.
However, royals are discouraged from being too affectionate in public, especially when in an official business. This is the reason why Prince William and Middleton rarely hold hands.
