A majority of “50 Shades” fans only recently accepted that “Sons of Anarchy” star Charlie Hunnam will be playing the role of Christian Grey in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” films. But according to one expert, the 33-year-old actor still isn’t right the role.

According to a report from Cosmopolitan.com Monday, Hunnam’s physical features don’t mesh with the character Christian Grey, a businessman described as a controlling sadist with a strong sexual appetite. “The patterns of his facial features show that this guy doesn't have a kinky bone in his body, so it doesn't make him believable in the role,” said facial features expert Jean Haner. “If the author wanted to choose someone more suitable for this part, she would have picked a guy with sharp cheekbones and hollowness to his cheeks, both features of someone who likes to be in control.”

While Haner didn't Hunnam is good-looking, her final observations did conclude that he isn’t the right actor for the part. “He'd have a strong brow bone and deep-set eyes, which are signs of someone who likes to be domineering,” she said, adding that a widow’s peak would be another trait more suitable for a domineering character like Christian Grey. “A widow's peak usually means the person has natural sex appeal and charisma, and tends to enjoy kinky sex,” Haner said.

Despite Haner listing several other characteristics that she claims make Hunnam an unsuitable choice to star in the erotic book trilogy-turned-feature film (including his rounded hairline, face and eyebrows and full lips), she did add that two of his features match his character’s distinctive personality. "His nose is refined, which shows someone who wants to achieve something important in life, but who might be a bit controlling in relationship. And also that his jaw is on the larger side, which shows a strong sex drive and a possible tendency to be dominating in relationship,” she said.

While Haner classified Hunam as a miscast, her facial feature expertise found co-star Dakota Johnson more suitable. Haner claims Johnson is “perfect” for the role of the sexually inexperienced college graduate Anastasia Steele, telling Cosmopolitan.com that the 24-year-old actress’ prominent cheeks, straight eyebrow shape, tense mouth, deep-set eyes and strong chin match the introverted, emotional and practical characteristics that her character possesses.

This isn’t the first time someone has spoken out about their disappointment over filmmakers decision to cast Hunnam in the coveted role. Fans first turned to the platform site Change.org following news that the British native had been cast as a lead in the film in September. As of Wednesday, the petition had more than 86,200 signatures requesting a recast from the series’ author, E.L. James. Despite the initial controversy, “Fifty Shades of Grey” fans have shown support to the TV actor in recent weeks following rumors that he had dropped out of the role following negative public feedback.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” is currently scheduled for an August 2014 release.
