‘90 Day Fiancé’ Cast Update: Ashley Reflects On Dumping Jay After Withdrawing Divorce

On “90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?” Season 4, episode 12, viewers saw Ashley Martson reunite with Jay Smith shortly after serving him with divorce papers.

During this season of the TLC series, the couple struggled to fix their marriage after Ashley learned Jay cheated on her. When she discovered he was unfaithful for a second time, Ashley filed for divorce.

However, she had a change of heart after she was hospitalized, and Jay rushed to be by her side. “It was kind of surprising to see him walk through the door at the hospital,” she said during the episode.

“I was still somewhat happy to see him and happy not to be alone,” the TLC star added.

Ashley’s unexpected reunion with caused her to reconsider their future together and she withdrew the divorce papers. “If I want to try to make my marriage work, then I have to withdraw the divorce,” she explained.

“I can’t say I’m 100 percent sure that I am making the right decision, but I love him, and I’m going to try everything I can to make this marriage work.”

On Sunday, Ashley shared a quote to her Instagram story that seemed to address why she dumped Jay after withdrawing their divorce papers.

“Divorce is ok. Breaking up is ok. Starting over is ok. Moving on is ok. Saying no is ok. Being alone is ok. What is not ok is staying somewhere where you aren’t happy, valued, or appreciated, that’s not ok,” the post read.

Since their split, Ashley revealed her marriage to Jay caused her to become depressed. “I don’t think I actually felt depressed until my divorce with Jay. I have never dealt with anything like I have been feeling right now, with Jay,” she previously told E! News.

While Ashley reportedly plans to seek help, Jay has been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement after violating a Protection From Abuse order obtained by Ashley.
