911 Call For Cigarettes Ends In Arrest For Texas Woman: Was Linda White Drunk?
A Texas woman’s 911 call for cigarettes ended in her arrest.
The woman, 42-year-old Linda White of Granbury, called 911 on Feb. 11 and asked the dispatcher to deliver her cigarettes, CBS Dallas reported.
The woman sounded “very intoxicated” when she made the 911 call, Hood County sheriff’s Lt. Kathy Jividen told the Associated Press Tuesday.
You can judge for yourself whether White appeared drunk. CBS Dallas has an audio recording of the 911 call along with a mugshot of the White here.
“I need some cigarettes,” the woman says in the recording.
Instead of cigarettes, two deputies from the Hood County sheriff’s office came to White’s home and she was arrested, the AP reported.
She woman was charged with abuse of 911 – a misdemeanor – and released from the Hood County Jail on $1,000 bond.
The woman found it “amusing” to order cigarettes over 911, Jividen told the AP.
