Carter just split from girlfriend Madison Parker last week. Carter’s rep released a statement to People saying that the singer and Parker loved and respected each other dearly. “It was a mutual decision and Aaron’s personal statement released speaks for itself. Now back to the music,” the statement read.
On his Twitter account, Carter also shared a revealing story about his teenager years. According to the “I Want Candy” singer, he started finding both boys and girls attractive at the age of 13. In his lengthy post, Carter revealed that he had an experience with a man when he was 17 years old.
Last month, Carter was arrested on DUI and marijuana charges in Georgia. At the time, Parker was also in the car and was arrested on drug charges along with the obstruction of justice. According to TMZ, Carter refused to undergo a breathalyzer and drug test to determine whether or not he was driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Days after his arrest, Carter spoke with Entertainment Tonight about his recent struggles. In the tearful interview, he admitted that he wants to eventually settle down with Parker and start a family together. “I wanna be a good father, a good role model, a strong role model,” he said.
Parker also told the publication that she was drawn to Carter after photographing him because she knew instantly that he had “the biggest heart ever.” “That’s what a lot of people don’t understand and don’t care to understand or take the time to understand,” she said.
