ABC’s ‘Bless This Mess’ Series Premiere: Here’s How You Know The Cast
ABC’s blessing its audience with an all-new comedy from co-creators Lake Bell and Elizabeth Meriwether Tuesday night.
“Bless This Mess” follows newlyweds Rio (Bell) and Mike (Dax Shepard) as they decide to live a simpler life by leaving New York City behind and heading to rural Nebraska. The couple quickly learns farming isn’t as easy they assumed it’d be.
Before the show premieres, get to know the “Bless This Mess” cast a little bit better.
Lake Bell (Rio)
The actress played Dr. Cat Black on Adult Swim’s “Childrens Hospital” from 2008 to 2016, and she also had roles in films like, “Over Her Dead Body,” “What Happens in Vegas,” “No Strings Attached” and “Home Again.” Bell also wrote, directed and starred in 2017’s “I Do…Until I Don’t.”
Dax Shepard (Mike)
Viewers will recognize the actor from his time starring on “Parenthood” for six seasons as Crosby Braverman, as well as from movies like, “Without a Paddle,” “Employee of the Month” and “Baby Mama.”
He’s also acted with his wife, Kristen Bell, on multiple projects, including 2010’s “When in Rome,” 2016’s “The Boss,” 2012’s “Hit and Run” and 2017’s “CHIPS.” For the last two movies mentioned, Shepard was also the writer and director.
Aside from acting, he runs his Armchair Expert podcast.
David Koechner (Beau)
When not playing Champ in the “Anchorman” movies, Koechner also worked on films like, “The Dukes of Hazzard,” “Waiting…,” “Snakes on a Plane,” “The Comebacks” and “Get Smart.” On the TV front, he worked on various shows, including “F Is for Family” and “Superior Donuts.”
Lennon Parham (Kay)
Currently starring as Liz Flemming on ABC’s “Schooled,” Parham previously worked on shows like, “Lady Dynamite,” “Playing House,” “Veep,” “Best Friends Forever” and “Accidentally on Purpose.” Parham was also in “Horrible Bosses 2” and “The House.”
Ed Begley Jr. (Rudy)
With an onscreen career spanning back to the 1960s, it’s likely viewers have seen Begley in quite a few things. Some of his most famous projects include, “St. Elsewhere,” “This Is Spinal Tap,” “7th Heaven,” “A Mighty Wind,” “Pineapple Express,” “Ghostbusters,” “Arrested Development” and “Future Man.”
Pam Grier (Constance)
She played the titular characters in 1973’s “Coffy,” 1974’s “Foxy Brown” and 1975’s “Friday Foster,” and then the 1980s were all about arcs on various television shows. In the 1990s, Grier had roles in movies like, “Mars Attacks!” and “Jawbreaker.” In the 2000s, she portrayed Kit Porter on the popular Showtime drama, “The L Word,” for six seasons.
JT Neal (Jacob)
After doing an episode of Disney XD’s “Lab Rats,” Neal landed the role of Scott Tomlinson on Nickelodeon’s “The Haunted Hathaways.” After that, he did a few episodes of Disney Channel’s “Best Friends Whenever” and worked on his own web series, “Roommates.” Most recently, Neal played Mike in Netflix’s “Sierra Burgess Is a Loser.”
