Adele Explains Grammys Sound Issue; What Ruined Her ‘All I Ask’ Performance? [VIDEO]
Adele fans were disappointed at the 2016 Grammys. The singer’s album “25” was ineligible to be nominated this year, but the Brit was given a performance. However, technical issues made her rendition of “All I Ask” less than stellar. Adele explained the issue on Twitter.
The performance was interrupted by what sounded like a guitar, despite Adele only being accompanied by a piano. The songstress revealed that it was a microphone issue. “The piano mics fell on to the piano strings, that's what the guitar sound was,” she wrote on Twitter. “It made it sound out of tune. S--- happens.”
Recording Academy president Neil Portnow also addressed the issue with a similar explanation and noted that the troubles weren’t at all Adele’s fault. “To Adele’s credit, she killed it, she did a fantastic job, the pro that she is,” Portnow said, Variety reports. “That was all an issue on our behalf. Kenny [Ehrlich, Grammy Awards producer] asked that we make that really clear to everybody.”
It seems the microphone that fell may have only been used for the CBS broadcast. Audience members who were present at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Monday night revealed that they didn’t hear the glitch.

Later, Adele revealed that she was going to treat herself to some fast food because of the issue.
The “Hello” singer clearly hasn’t indulged too much lately. After showing off her slimmer figure on the Grammy Awards red carpet in a Givenchy dress, fans noticed her recent weight loss. “I was trying to get some stamina for my tour,” she told Vogue recently. “So I lost a bit of weight. Now I fit into normal, off-the-shelf clothes — which is a really big problem for me!”
