Adriana Lima Will Not Take Off Clothes For An Empty Cause
Adriana Lima just made a huge career move.
The supermodel has been gracing the runway for years, but she recently made a new realization regarding her job and shared it on social media. The Victoria's Secret model announced that she is no longer willing to take her clothes off for the camera unless it is for an important cause, Us Weekly reported.
On Saturday, Lima took to Instagram to share a recent incident that made her realize something about herself. She said she received a call from someone inviting her to film a sexy video that will be shared on social media.
The supermodel explained that she has done a similar thing before, but something came up that made her change her mind. One friend approached her and told the model that she was not happy about her body. Lima realized that she has been conscious of her look and what people will think of her body.
"I wake up thinking, how do I look? Was I going to be accepted in my job? And in that moment I realized that majority of women probably wake up every morning trying to fit in a stereotype that society/socialmedia/fashion etc imposed," Lima wrote.
"I thought that's not a way of living and beyond that.... I wake up thinking, how do I look? Was I going to be accepted in my job? And in that moment I realized that majority of woman probably wake up every morning trying to fit in a stereotype that society/socialmedia/fashion etc imposed," she continued. "I thought that's not a way of living and beyond that.... that's not physically and mentally healthy, so I decided to make that change..... I will not take of my clothes anymore for a empty cause."
According to Glamour (via Elite Daily), Lima unfollowed Ed Razek, the senior creative executive of Victoria's Secret. She also did the same to some of her fellow VS models.
Lima's post on Instagram does not reveal her relationship with Victoria's Secret, but this has led some to speculate that she may be planning to leave the brand for good. "I will make that change. I will start with me," she wrote.
