It’s time to reveal everything on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” In Season 2, episode 20, the last episode before the two-hour finale, the gang will learn the answers to plenty of secrets. They’ll find out where Skye (Chloe Bennet) has been and they’ll discover what Coulson (Clark Gregg) is up to, according to the episode's synopsis. That might lead to another “Avengers: Age of Ultron” tie-in.

Skye will have a big struggle in episode 20, titled "Scars." Since her S.H.I.E.L.D. team and the Inhumans have very different priorities she will be “torn between her loyalty to S.H.I.E.L.D. and her connection to the Inhumans as tensions rise between the groups.” Those tensions might have something to do with Gonzales’ (Edward James Olmos) plans to hold her and Lincoln (Luke Mitchell) hostage.

Based on the promo video below, it looks like the Gordon (Jamie Harris) will save them and take them back to Afterlife, the Inhuman facility. However, Gonzales will want her back. S.H.I.E.L.D. might get ready for a war.

The new battle might bring some secrets to light. Coulson will reveal “a secret he’s been hiding from even those closest to him.” Will he finally explain what Theta Protocol is? The mysterious program has been mentioned a few times, and Coulson spoke about it to Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) in episode 19. He said it was ready and it was “time to bring in the Avengers.”

Coulson still hasn’t said exactly what the protocol is, but he might have to tell the team. They’ll likely be dealing with the aftermath of “Avengers 2.” The film won’t completely destroy them this time (unlike “Captain America: The Winter Soldier"), but the S.H.I.E.L.D. team has to acknowledge the massive invasion of robots.
