‘Agents Of SHIELD’ Season 2 Spoilers: What City Will Coulson Find? Find Out How It Could Set Up A Future Marvel Movie [THEORIES]
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 2 has been supplying plenty of questions to its fans, but it's also been providing answers rather quickly. Skye (Chloe Bennet) realized Coulson’s (Clark Gregg) writing was a map, and then Coulson found a finished version and realized it was a blueprint of a city. Now the S.H.I.E.L.D. team is going to find that city in episode 9.
That’s right. They’re already going to find the alien city. Being that this is a Marvel show, we imagine this city will be familiar to comic fans. In fact, it might even be familiar to moviegoers.
Knowhere
Once Skye said Coulson’s writing was “a map to nowhere,” everyone wondered if it was a pun. Knowhere is a city that first came to the screen in “Guardians of the Galaxy.” It’s actually located on the decapitated head of a Celestial (a very large alien), according to Marvel, and the head is close to the edge of the universe. It also serves as the home base for the Guardians of the Galaxy themselves, but that might be why this choice is too obvious. S.H.I.E.L.D. has never gone to Stark Tower, and it probably won’t go to Knowhere either. It puts the show a little too close to the big superheroes, and those scenes will probably be saved for movies.
Subterranea
We know that Skye’s mother (Dichen Lachman) didn’t age. Where could she have found a fountain of youth? Subterranea, a city located just under Earth’s surface, is explored mostly in the “The Fantastic Four” comics, a film franchise that seems to exist outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that doesn’t mean “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” can’t go there. Thor has also fought Subterranean warriors in the comics, but neither film franchise has put the city on screen yet. However, the TV show might not make connections to preexisting film franchises.
Attilan
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 2 might be introducing one of the next Marvel movies if it ends up in Attilan. As previously reported, it will be revealed that the blue alien that the GH.325 came from is Kree. The Kree started the Inhumans, who will get their own Marvel movie in 2018, and Attilan is an Inhuman city. Fans have been speculating about Inhumans since Coulson first saw the blue alien when he got the GH.325 in Season 1, and the show keeps giving more evidence to support the Inhumans theory. If Skye’s mother was an Inhuman, that would explain how she never aged. It would also explain why Skye had no reaction to the GH.325. This seems like the most likely option for the mystery city on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 2, episode 9, titled “Ye Who Enter Here,” will air on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 9 p.m. EST on ABC. Which city do you think they’ll find? Share your theories in the comments section below.
