Alex Rodriguez is in pain while Jennifer Lopez is moving on with Ben Affleck following their split, according to a report.

Lopez and Rodriguez called off their engagement last month. Shortly after their split, Lopez has been seeing her other ex-fiancé, Affleck. According to an insider, the former baseball pro is in pain after she dumped him.

"Alex is still very sore and in a world of pain," a source told Us Weekly. "It’s the first time anyone can remember him being dumped like this, at least publicly."

The insider added that Rodriguez was still hoping that they would get back together. However, he realized that the possibility of their reconciliation is now slim as she has been seen out and about with Affleck in the past weeks.

"Seeing her running straight back to Ben’s arms is a real kick in the teeth," the source continued. "There’s a part of him that still clings onto the hope that they’ll wind up together again but deep down he’s had to accept the harsh truth that she’s over him and moving on with Ben. It’s a tough pill to swallow but that’s his new reality."

The "Argo" star and "Maid in Manhattan" actress reconnected through the phone when she realized that she had to move on from Rodriguez, according to the insider.

"Jen got back in touch with Ben after it became apparent to her that things with Alex weren’t working anymore," the insider explained to the outlet. "They’d already sounded each other out about it from afar, like, when Ben heaped praise on Jen in interviews. [Meanwhile] she made it very plain to their mutual friends that she was open to getting back in touch."

According to multiple outlets, Affleck has been visiting Lopez at her home. Her security reportedly picks him up at a nearby location and drops him off after spending hours at her house.

They spent Mother's Day weekend together in Big Sky, Montana. They were photographed in a car with Affleck driving the vehicle and Lopez sitting beside him. They have been talking every day since their getaway, another source said.

"Alex is not thrilled," a different insider told Us Weekly about his reaction to Lopez and Affleck’s reunion. "It definitely hurt his ego."
