All The ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Pros Who Have Dated Celebrities

The dance floor has certainly been the place where some “Dancing With the Stars” pros find love, but even outside of the studio, the stars of the ABC show who try to teach their celebrity partners how to perform complicated routines certainly know how to attract some famous partners.

Most recently, heads turned when Keo Motsepe and Sharna Burgess went public with their newest romances. Motsepe began dating Chrishell Stause after her recent stint on Season 29 of the show, while Burgess officially went Instagram official after rumors circulated that she was dating “Beverly Hills 90210” star Brian Austin Green. However, while these respective romances are certainly making headlines, they aren’t the only ones that have seen dancers from the show, who have become celebrities in their own right over the years, who have wound up dating—or in some cases, even marrying—some other famous faces. Mark Ballas:

Prior to marrying singer BC Jean in 2016, Ballas was linked to “American Idol” alums Pia Toscano and Joanna Pacitti, his Season 5 partner Sabrina Bryan and even fellow pro Julianne Hough.

Alan Bersten

After sharing an on-screen kiss during Season 27 of the show, Alan Bersten and his partner Alexis Ren were rumored to be a pair, though they reportedly split soon after the show ended.

Cheryl Burke:

Before marrying actor Matthew Lawrence in 2019 (who she initially met when his brother Joey Lawrence competed on Season 3 of the show), the 36-year-old two-time Mirrorball champ was linked to former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul, as well as actor “Cougar Town” actor Josh Hopkins.

Artem Chigvintsev:

Before getting engaged to his former partner Nikki Bella, with whom he now shares a son, Chigvintsev was linked to “Chicago Med” and “Pretty Little Liars” actress Torrey Devitto, as well as judge Carrie Ann Inaba.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy:

Maks Chmerkovskiy may be a happily married man and father these days, having welcomed son Shai the same year he wed fellow pro dancer Peta Murgatroyd, but his ballroom romance with Karina Smirnoff, which saw the two get engaged, was also worth noting during their mutual time on the show. Other relationships over the years included one with model Kate Upton.

Valentin Chmerkovskiy:

Maks’ younger brother also found love in the ballroom with Jenna Johnson, who he married in 2019. Before making things official though, he was linked to Amber Rose (his brother’s one-time partner) and “Pretty Little Liars” actress Janel Parrish.

Allison Holker:

Holker has been married to Stephen ‘Twitch’ Boss, also known as Ellen DeGeneres’ right-hand man, since 2013.

Derek Hough:

The pro with the most Mirrorball trophies who returned as a judge in Season 29 has been happily dating fellow pro dancer Hayley Erbert for years, but his dating history was studded by several high-profile romances. He has sparked rumors of a romance with Kate Hudson in the past, as well as Lauren Conrad and Nina Dobrev, and also been linked to Cheryl Cole, his Season 6 partner Shannon Elizabeth and actress India de Beaufort.

Julianne Hough:

Though currently divorcing from Brooks Laich, who she married in 2017, she also famously dated Ryan Seacrest for three years. Other relationships included ones with director Ari Sandel, singer Chuck Wicks (who danced on the show during their relationship) and fellow pro Mark Ballas.

Kym Johnson:

Love found the two-time Mirrorball winner when “Shark Tank” entrepreneur Robert Herjavec joined the show in Season 20. The two quickly fell in love and married in 2016. They have also since welcomed twins together.

Gleb Savchenko:

Now that he is getting a divorce from Elena Samodanova, the pro dancer was erroneously linked to his Season 29 partner Chrishell Stause. In reality, he is now dating “Make It or Break It” actress Cassie Scerbo.

Karina Smirnoff:

The new mom has had a rocky road when it comes to romance, with three broken engagements to fellow dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, baseball player Brad Penny and actor Jason Adelman. She also dated Mario Lopez for two years after dancing with him on the show.
