'Amazing Race' 2014 Cast Announced; Meet Season 25 Contestants And Discover The New Game Changer [PHOTOS]
“The Amazing Race” Season 25 premieres in September, but the show is still introducing new elements. The silver anniversary season will introduce “The Save,” TV Guide reports. “The Save” will allow special privileges to the team who finishes Leg 1 first. Should that team come in last on any of the following Legs, they have the chance to save themselves from elimination. The teams will include pro wrestlers, a one-armed surfer, "Survivor" contestants and more. Meet the cast below:
Bethany Hamilton and Adam Dirks from Princeville, Hawaii are newlywed surfers. Audiences might remember Hamilton as the girl who lost her arm in a shark attack in 2003 and inspired the 2011 movie “Soul Surfer.”
Amy DeJong and Maya Warren from Madison, Wisc. are food scientists.
Brooke Adams and Robbie E. Strauss are respectively from Houston, Texas and Woodbridge, N.J. They are dating and both are pro wrestlers.
Michael Ward and Scott Strazzullo from Boston, Mass. are firefighters.
Kym Perfetto and Alli Forsythe from Brooklyn, N.Y. are urban bike racers.
Lisa Thomson and Michelle Thomson from Miami, Fla. are realtor sisters.
Tim Tsao and Te Jay McGrath from Pasadena, Calif. have been dating since college.
Isabelle Du and Dennis Hour from Tustin, Calif. Du is a model and Hour is an accountant.
Keith Tollefson and Whitney Duncan from Nashville, Tenn. are an engaged couple. The two met on “Survivor: South Pacific” in 2011. Both made it roughly half way through the competition before being eliminated. Duncan is also a country singer who competed on the reality TV show "Nashville Star."
Misti and Jim Raman from Columbia, S.C. are married dentists.
Shelley and Nici Porter from Detroit, Mich. are the only mother/daughter team this season.
These “The Amazing Race” contestants will travel to the Virgin Islands, Malta, Scotland and more this year while they compete to win $1 million.
“The Amazing Race” Season 25 premieres on Friday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. EDT. Who do you think will win Leg 1 and qualify for “The Save”? Sound off in the comments section below!
