Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s tumultuous divorce is being revisited after the former couple’s audio recordings during some of their heated arguments were leaked.
Last week, Daily Mail published a series of recordings where the “Aquaman” star admitted to physically hurting Depp. Heard also admitted to faking her bruises by using makeup to make them look real.
In 2019, the actress’s last texts to the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star were released years after they filed for divorce. In her text message, Heard urged Depp to submit their divorce documents, but the actress also apologized for everything that she has done.
“Do this or undue [sic] this as we see fit. You and I have the control. And love each other. I thought you filed [for divorce]. You said you were going to and said goodbye. I’m sorry if I’ve hurt you. I have nothing but love for you,” Heard wrote.
Four years ago, Depp accused Heard of lying about her allegations against him. The actress claimed that her ex-husband physically, emotionally, and verbally abused her. Depp fired back by saying that it was actually the other way around.
“Again, this domestic violence allegation was untrue, and Ms. Heard’s purported injury was staged… Several women who have been in a relationship with Ms. Heard have come forward to share their personal experiences of brutal violence and other abuse at the hands of Ms. Heard,” the court documents revealed.
According to Depp’s accounts, Heard was arrested at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in 2009 after police officials observed that she was committing domestic violence against her ex-wife, Tasya Van Ree.
Van Ree then asked the police officers to arrest her wife, but they were unable to charge Heard because she was not a resident of King County, Washington. Despite her non-arrest, Heard still spent an entire day in jail, and she also appeared in court.
However, Van Ree came to Heard’s defense shortly after. She said that Heard’s arrest for striking her at the airport was misinterpreted and sensationalized. The actress’s ex-wife also described her as brilliant, beautiful, and honest and said that they are still good friends.
