‘American Ninja Warrior’ Contestant Jessie Graff Named As First Woman To Beat Stage 2
“Supergirl” stunt woman Jessie Graff made history on the special episode of “American Ninja Warrior: USA vs. The World.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, Graff became the first ever woman to have completed stage 2. A clip from June 4’s episode was released exclusively by the publication and it opens with the crowd cheering Graff on. In the first obstacle of the competition, Graff hung herself on red metallic rings until she completed the Giant Ring Swing course.

In the second obstacle, the professional “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stuntwoman moved metallic bars from bottom to the top. She also hung herself on top of a huge pool and completed the Down Up Salmon Ladder with ease. While the crowd was going crazy on the sidelines, Graff continued on with the rest of the obstacles, namely, Wave Runner, Butterfly Wall, Double Wedge and Wall Flips, until she finished stage 2.
Following her stint in “American Ninja Warrior,” Graff said that she hopes her success on the reality TV show will inspire and remind other women that they can do anything.
This is not the first time that Graff competed in “American Ninja Warrior.” Last year, she also competed in the hit NBC reality TV show and became the first ever woman to complete stage 1 at the National Finals. She moved on to becoming the first woman to attempt stage two, but she did not complete the course and fell from the Wave Runner obstacle, according to the show’s official website.
While speaking with ESPN after her stint in “American Ninja Warrior” last year, Graff said that she’s excited to complete stage 1 as an athlete and as a woman. “Hitting the buzzer proved my ability to analyze, strategize and make quick adaptive decisions under pressure – which is one of the most important things you can know about yourself. When the pressure is on, stakes are high, and emergency strikes: will you react intelligently or freeze up? Knowing that I can conquer the most finicky, volatile course, under the most pressure, gives me the confidence to know that whatever challenges arise in my life, I’m capable of staying centered and making the best decision possible,” she said.
