‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 12: Angelina Green Will Make Heidi Klum Proud

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 contestant Angelina Green recently opened up about her upcoming live show performance.

While speaking with People, the 13-year-old singer said that she wants to make judge Heidi Klum proud. After all, the supermodel gave Green the coveted golden buzzer in the July 11 episode of the hit NBC reality TV competition.

“I really want to make Heidi proud and I want to show her that I deserved to get the golden buzzer. I already really want to make my mom and brother proud. I know what I’m going to sing. I’m working on it right now. I can’t really say it, but I’m working really hard every day. I really want to impress everybody. So I’m working really, really hard,” she said.

During her audition last month, the teenager shared how music helped her cope with her parents’ divorce. But during her interview with the publication on Tuesday, Green shared more details about the difficult times she and her entire family went through. According to her, whenever things got challenging, she would go to her room, sing and play an instrument.

“I feel like music helped me escape to another world and I forgot about all my worries. Music was always there for me. It was really important to me,” she said.

Green, who dedicated her audition performance to her mom, also hopes to inspire more kids experiencing similar problems. “You don’t really choose your story. It’s something that happens to you. I know there are some kids out there who feel like they can’t go on anymore, but they need to know that they can,” she said.

Meanwhile, “America’s Got Talent” Season 12 aired its first live show on Tuesday night. A slew of fan-favorites graced the Dolby Theater stage, including comedian Preacher Lawson, Angelica Hale, Christian Guardino and Yoli Mayor, dance troupe Just Jerk, roller skaters Billy and Emily England, sad singing clown Puddles Pity Party and singing ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer.

On Wednesday, some of the contestants will be sent home in the first live eviction episode.

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
