‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 12: Christian Guardino, Yoli Mayor To Perform Live
The first live show of “America’s Got Talent” Season 12 will feature performances from Christian Guardino, Yoli Mayor, Just Jerk and more.
Prior to their performances, the three contestants expressed their excitement for being part of Season 12 via a video that was uploaded on the show’s official Facebook account. Guardino, 16, received a golden buzzer from judge Howie Mandel after he sung a stunning rendition of Jackson 5’s “Who’s Lovin’ You.” In his clip, Guardino said that being part of “America’s Got Talent” has been an amazing experience.
Mayor, 21, also had a memorable audition a few weeks ago. When she started singing her own version of Nina Simone’s “I Put a Spell on You,” judge Simon Cowell made a face and asked her to stop just five seconds into her audition. Cowell asked Mayor if she has another audition song since “I Put a Spell on You” is not giving her voice enough justice. Mayor sung Ed Sheeran’s “Make It Rain” and received a standing ovation.
In her video, Mayor told her fans that she’s looking forward to her first live show performance since she’s been practicing hard since making past the judge cuts. Unfortunately, the clip was cut right before Mayor could reveal the title of her song, but the contestant said that it will “hit really close to home.”
Meanwhile, South Korean dance troupe Just Jerk will also be one of the few contestants who will perform on Tuesday night. Even though they did not receive a golden buzzer from any of the judges and guest judges, Just Jerk has been praised for their artistry and technicality during their auditions and judge cuts performance. The group’s leader revealed in their teaser that they will be doing an entirely different routine.
Other than the three performers, 9-year-old Angelica Hale, who received guest judge Chris Hardwick’s golden buzzer, will also be performing this week. Singing ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer, who received a golden buzzer from Mel B, will be introducing a new puppet during her performance on Tuesday.
“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
