‘Americas’s Got Talent’ Season 12 Breaks Delayed Viewing Ratings For Reality TV Show After Short Hiatus
“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 just broke the delayed viewing ratings for reality TV shows.
According to The Wrap, the NBC show’s June 27 episode grew from its original 12.363 million viewers to 15.929 million viewers a week after the catch-ups were counted. After the said episode, NBC did not release a new installment for “America’s Got Talent” Season 12 on July 4. This could have been one of the reasons why the ratings increased since fans of the show did not have a new episode to watch.

But other than the 3.566 million increase in terms of viewership from June 27, “America’s Got Talent” Season 12 has also been a steady player in Nielsen’s live plus same day ratings and a week later metrics. On its premiere episode, “AGT” garnered a total of 12.320 million viewers. A week later, the figure increased by 3.343 million to 15.663 million. On its second episode, the live telecast earned 12.528 million and became 15.842 million after a week.
Meanwhile, “America’s Got Talent” Season 12, episode 6 will continue to feature a slew of new contestants who will showcase their talents in front of judges Mel B, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell. As of late, Klum’s golden buzzer has not yet been handed up to a deserving contestant.
Cowell gave his golden buzzer to 29-year-old deaf singer Mandy Harvey, while Mel B gave hers to 12-year-old ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer. Mandel gifted 16-year-old formerly blind contestant Christian Guardino with the privilege of automatically advancing to the live show. Host Tyra Banks gave her golden buzzer to the Light Balance dancers.
Meanwhile, even though “America’s Got Talent” Season 12 didn’t air a new episode this week, the judges of the hit reality TV competition gathered for a photo call. On Wednesday, Mel B was photographed wearing a tight-fitting pink dress while on the red carpet. The photo call that was held in Los Angeles was also attended by Banks.
“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 will return to NBC on July 11 at 8 p.m. EDT. The live shows will kick off sometime in August.
