Amy Duggar Prayed Not To Have A Honeymoon Baby During Beach Vacation With Husband Dillon King
The honeymoon phase isn’t quite over for Amy Duggar and Dillon King!
During an interview with People magazine, the former “19 Kids and Counting” star dished to the outlet that she and her husband, who got hitched in September 2015, are enjoying the newlywed life … just the two of them.
According to Amy, she’s not ready to add a member to her little family. In fact, the 29-year-old reality darling claimed she and Dillon have taken “every precaution” possible to prevent getting pregnant.
“I think [Dillon] will be an awesome dad and I can’t wait to be a mom someday," Amy told Us Weekly, "but we’ve got so many little cousins to love on and so many little kiddos that we don’t feel like we’re missing out." (Amy’s cousin Jessa Duggar recently welcomed her first child, named Spurgeon, with husband Ben Seewald in November.)
However, despite how safe the couple is being, Amy still feared that her romantic Cancun honeymoon could have led to a little “honeymoon baby.”
“On the honeymoon we were like, ‘Lord, please don’t let us have a honeymoon baby!'” she revealed. “I’m the opposite of my family when it comes to that. I want to enjoy my husband without waking up in the middle of the night. We totally want that freedom.”
In addition to wanting freedom, Amy also craves honesty. The Duggar clan member dished that she is “hell-bent on affair-proofing her marriage,” People magazine reporter Janine Rubenstein revealed in a video. And in order to do that, Amy and Dillon have partaken in non-traditional bible studies — even during their honeymoon!
"After church we go for Mexican food and mimosas and just sit there and talk about what we learned. Even on our honeymoon in Cancun, we woke up at 6 a.m. and did a Bible study right there on the beach. It was one of my favorite moments."
Amy even shared some flirty photos from her beachy getaway on Instagram (with said mimosas in hand!).
