'Angry Birds' Movie Plot Details: Red, Chuck And Bomb Will Have Anger Management Issues
The first images and plot details of “Angry Birds” movie has been released by Entertainment Weekly. John Cohen, the film producer said that the film is an origin story.
"The question Rovio gets more than anything is ‘Why are these birds so angry?’ This is the origin story for how that conflict came to exist between birds and little green piggies,” he said.
The film will be reportedly based on a bird called Red, who is unable to control his rage. He has friends Chuck and Bomb, who also have anger management issue. They are a misfit in the bird community. It is up to them to protect their all-bird island from the pig infiltrators. Comedian Jason Sudeikis has been roped in to voice Red. Meanwhile, Josh Gad and Danny McBride will lend their voices to Bomb and Chuck, respectively.
Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly are helming the film. Speaking about the film Reilly told the website, “These are icons in a game that appear to be characters, but really they’re just icons. So it’s up to us to flesh them out… It’s an advantage that we have such a huge brand. A lot of iconic movies come from branded entertainment.”
Kaytis is reportedly happy to have Sudeikis on the board as he is considered to have the right voice for the character.
The other star cast of the film includes Maya Rudolph, Bill Hader and Peter Dinklage. Jon Vitti has written the film based on the Rovio’s popular game “Angry Birds.” Heitor Pereira has supplied the music, which will be released on May 20, 2016.
Meanwhile, one of the images released by the website show Red standing with his friend Chuck. Another image gives a glimpse at the island inhibited by birds. Two green pigs are also seen in another image. The film is being made under the banner of Rovio Entertainment and Sony Pictures Imageworks.
