Anna Faris Talks About Getting 'Fake Boobs'; Admits Being 'Self-Conscious' About Her Body
Anna Faris opened up about getting body modification and how "self-conscious" she was during her younger days.
The 45-year-old actress recalled that when she was 17 years old, she went to a bar and felt "terrified."
"I was terrified that I wasn't a good lover," Faris told host Chelsea Handler on the podcast, "Dear Chelsea" Thursday. "Especially when I was younger, I was so self-conscious of my body. I didn't want anybody to see it. But I would dance on the edges of it. I wanted to be desired desperately."
The actress went on to reveal how her mother never complimented her "physical appearance," noting that she was "a late bloomer."
"I had chubby cheeks, I wore headgear for f--king years. I think my parents did that to me because they wanted me to stay a virgin," she added. "That was one of the struggles in my life for sure. I just got fake boobs and bleached my hair. That was my strategy."
Faris also shared that she still has trouble accepting compliments at Hollywood events.
"In Hollywood, if you’re at a thing and everybody looks beautiful and someone is like ‘I think you look so beautiful,’ I can’t absorb that very well. It’s a little too much," she added.
The actress further spoke about her two divorces and called herself a "divorce veteran."
"It hit hard the first time," she admitted. "I turned into somebody that I didn't recognize. I was always the kind of person that had their fridge filled. And I hosted a lot of dinners. That was back when I had friends. I found myself in this apartment with just beer and mustard in the fridge."
Faris revealed she used to go out all the time and had "no one to text or call" to ask about post-divorce things. "I was going out all the time," she added. "I had no one to text or call and say, 'Hey, can I do this?' essentially."
The actress was married to Ben Indra from 2004 to 2008. She was also married to Chris Pratt from 2009 to 2018.
On the work front, Faris will be next seen in the movies like "The Estate" and "Tunnels."
