'Are You The One?' Alum Connor Smith Arrested For Sexual Battery And Rape

“Are You the One?” alum Connor Smith has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage girl. He is facing four felony charges, including sexual battery and rape.

Based on court documents obtained by People, Smith forced a 16-year old girl to perform a sexual act on him after she got into his vehicle. Smith met the teenage girl online and brought her to a hotel somewhere in Lake County, Indiana, where the girl claimed he raped her.

On Friday, authorities took Smith into custody in Cook County, Illinois after issuing a warrant for his arrest. Apart from rape and sexual battery, Smith is also charged with two counts of criminal confinement. He is currently detained in the Cook County Jail on no bond.

The specific details of the allegations were not disclosed but documents obtained by TMZ reveal that the teenager claims she provided someone, who was selling a cat, her address via Snapchat. She then alleged that a man “ripped open her bedroom window screen, yanked her out of the room, threw her into his truck and drove to a motel while sexually assaulting her.”

According to TMZ, the unidentified teen’s narrative changed in later interviews with police. The outlet reported that the alleged victim subsequently admitted to having met her attacker on a dating app and voluntarily snuck out to meet him.

She told the police he forced her to perform oral sex on him while she was inside the man’s truck and while he was driving to the motel, “slapping and choking her multiple times, urinating on her in the motel room and forcing oral sex again.”

The girl allegedly claims her attacker drove her home and said he would be back the next day but family members were on their front lawn when they arrived, so they chased him away. Police arrested Smith because his vehicle matched the description of what eyewitnesses saw.

In 2015, Smith appeared on “Are You the One?” Season 3, a show where a group of single contestants competed to find their perfect match.
