Ariel Winter To Be Fired From ‘Modern Family,’ New Rumors Claim

“Modern Family” star Ariel Winter might be out of a job if new rumors are to be believed. The actress was fired from the hit sitcom, Star Magazine reported Wednesday.

The show’s biggest stars — Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen and Ed O’Neil — asked for higher salaries. With higher wages for the veteran actors, the show wasn’t able to afford Winter. “To renew deals for the ‘big three,’ some of the younger actors will be shuffled or cut entirely,” an insider told Star Magazine.

Since Winter isn’t as important, she was the first one to be let go. “Ariel isn’t central to the show, so she’s at the top of the chopping block,” the source said. “She’ll be sad to leave — the cast is a second family to her — but she’s also very excited for the next opportunity.” With her calendar free, Winter is “angling for her own show.”

Don’t say goodbye to Alex Dunphy just yet. Steve Levitan, the co-creator and executive producer of “Modern Family,” told Gossip Cop Winter wasn’t going anywhere. “Nothing could be further from the truth. Ariel is a beloved cast member and a crucial part of our show,” he said Wednesday. “While she is starting to attend classes this year at UCLA, we are happy to report that she’ll continue to be a part of Modern Family’s coming season.”

Winter, 18, garnered fame outside the show when she got a breast reduction. With her new confidence, the teenager began to post scandalous Instagram pictures. In many of them she is bikini-clad.

When Winter was criticized for wearing a skimpy dress, she slammed the internet trolls. “Dear sorry body-shamers, I looked hot in that dress. And if you hate it, don’t buy it. But please get a hobby. XOXO Ariel,” she wrote last month. The actress, who recently dyed her hair from red to black, added the hashtag #EmbraceYourBody. She probably dyed her hair for her reoccurring role on “Modern Family.”
