Ashlee Simpson And Boyfriend Evan Ross Reveal Their Engagement On Twitter

“Pieces of Me” singer Ashlee Simpson and boyfriend Evan Ross, the son of music icon Diana Ross, revealed their engagement on Monday.

The couple, who were vacationing in Hawaii, announced their engagement after posting the same photo on Twitter.

Simpson, 29, tweeted a photo showing of her engagement ring, “My baby love and I are ENGAGED!!! Hallelujah Hawaii!!!!!”

Ross, 25, wrote, sharing the same photo, “The love of my life said YES!!!!!!”

The couple had been friends for nearly a decade before they went public with their relationship in July.

Simpson was reportedly spotted with Diana, her future mother-in-law, at Diana’s concert after-party in August. She also spent the holidays getting to know the Ross family.

At “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” premiere in November, Ross reportedly admitted his relationship, stating, “I’m so in love and we’ve got amazing things going on,” with Simpson by his side. “And we inspire each other,” he added.

Simpson has marriage on the cards for the second time, as she was previously married to “Fall Out Boy” bassist Pete Wentz for two years. She also has a 5-year-old son, Bronx Mowgli, from her previous marriage.

After Simpson’s divorce in 2011 she reportedly began dating “Boardwalk Empire” actor Vincent Piazza, but they split last year.

Ross is reportedly said to have bonded well with Simpson’s son as he has spent time with him.

The engagement of Simpson and Ross isn’t the only happy event for the Simpson family. On a visit to “Good Morning America” last week, Jessica Simpson, Ashlee’s elder sister, revealed that she and fiancé Eric Johnson, whom she shares two children with, plan to wed sometime this year.
