‘Bachelor’ Couple Nick Viall, Vanessa Grimaldi Do Date Night At The 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards
Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi are still together, and it looks like they’re going strong. The pair appeared on the MTV TV & Movie Awards red carpet together on Sunday.
The former “Bachelor” couple stood side-by-side outside the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Nick and Vanessa were all smiles as they posed in their Sunday best. The four-time “Bachelor” kept it cool and casual in a flannel shirt, leather jacket and black pants while his bride-to-be opted for a sleek, black, off-the-shoulder gown.
This is the second red carpet Nick and Vanessa appeared on this weekend. On Saturday, the couple attended an Erase MS event, aiming to raise awareness and find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. Nick dressed up his look a bit more, wearing a suit alongside Vanessa, who posed in a white dress with a button front.
Nick and Vanessa have a lot more time for date nights now that Vanessa’s living in L.A. with her future hubby. The special education teacher opened up about the difficult decision to leave Montreal, Canada, behind on Saturday. She told E! Online that she has every intention of leading a similar life in L.A., adding that this was the best decision for her and her beau.
“I was and my family was very supportive of the idea of moving. I’m still bringing and carrying on my work from home with me. I’m still planning on teaching. I’m still planning on being part of that life that I had in Montreal,” she said. “It was a decision we both made together and we’re both very happy about that decision. Both of our families are very happy that we’re together and we’re starting our life together.”
Vanessa has been spending most of her time in L.A. supporting Nick while he competed on “Dancing With the Stars.” The “Bachelor” star was paired with Peta Murgatroyd and was doing well in the competition until Week 7. The dancing duo, dubbed Team Baby Got Bach, was eliminated ahead of Week 8 after doing a solo routine and competing in a dance off.
The morning after his elimination, Nick shared a photo of he and Vanessa lying in bed. In the caption, he wrote that while he was not competing on the show anymore, he still had his lady by his side. The pair were all smiles, despite their disappointment.
From the outside looking in, the former “Bachelor” couple appears almost perfect. Nick’s assured fans that’s far from the truth. In an interview with KTLA (via Us Weekly), he said meeting on the show was “not the ideal experience,” adding that he’s enjoyed putting in the work to form a lasting relationship with Vanessa.
“We’ve been pretty up front about having a lot of things to work on, and we’re excited about doing that. So we don’t feel any pressure like that — we’re just kind of doing our own thing,” Nick said.
Rather than rush down the aisle, he and Vanessa are putting all their energy into their relationship. During a Facebook live interview with Extra, Nick said that they were taking things slow. He added that they weren’t thinking about marriage right now, or whether they’d televise their nuptials, but were open to the idea.
“Vanessa and I are just focused on our relationship — when we decide it’s time for us to take that next step, we’re just going to plan a wedding, and if the show wants us, great, and if not...We’re not really focused on whether it’s going to be televised or not,” he said.
