‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Scandal Update: Disturbing New Details Emerge About Alleged Sexual Assault
“Bachelor In Paradise” Season 4 was rocked by scandal early this week, causing Warner Bros. to halt production on the ABC dating series. In the days that have followed a number of new details about what may have transpired in Mexico have emerged, delivering dark twists and turns in the ongoing investigation.
A source claiming to be a member of the “Bachelor In Paradise” crew has come forward with their own account of the events that unfolded on the set. Speaking with Daily Mail, the unnamed source alleged that DeMario Jackson and a female cast member were “hugging and kissing and touching” in a jacuzzi. The visibly intoxicated victim is said to have gone “limp,” as which time her alleged attacker reportedly picked her up, putting her on the pavement where he performed oral sex on her.

According to the anonymous “Bachelor In Paradise” crew member’s account, the woman in question “appeared to be unconscious.” Crew members reportedly stepped in before long, carrying the cast member to her room. The source revealed that the woman “was limp and seemed unable to walk on her own.”
Rather than call authorities, “Bachelor In Paradise” crew members decided to have the victim sleep off the drinks she’d consumed. The source told Daily Mail this decision didn’t sit right with everyone connected to the show, in fact it reportedly “disturbed people.” The victim was clued in as to what happened between herself and DeMario the following morning and had “no recollection” of the events.
Due to the sheer number of allegations swirling about what did or didn’t happen on the “Bachelor In Paradise” set, host Chris Harrison released a statement in the hopes of setting the record straight. The “Bachelor”/”Bachelorette” host warned fans to be wary of some reports of the events leading to the show’s production halting. Harrison said that no decision will be made about the show’s fate until the investigation surrounding the events that unfolded between Jackson and the female victim are properly investigated.
“Let me start by saying the safety and care of the cast and crew of our show is of the utmost importance to us. It is with this thought in mind that we made the decision to suspend filming. An investigation into the situation was started immediately,” his statement read. “Warner Bros. is handling the details of that investigation. They’re moving quickly to gather all the facts, and once that’s done, a clear, concise decision can be made about where we go from here.”
The “Bachelor In Paradise” cast has been largely silent about what transpired in Mexico. Speaking anonymously, two Season 4 stars shared with People that they and their co-stars “are pissed.” The pair said that the victim was obviously drunk and Jackson “was taking advantage.”
“People are pissed, and not just at DeMario. We’re pissed that this whole thing happened,” the sources said. “They could have seen that she was drinking too much and he was taking advantage. They could have stopped this before it got this far. But they decided to let it go, and let it happen and see what happened? So, I’m angry at the show, and everyone else is too.”
When the story first broke, it was widely reported that Jackson and the victim were told producers wanted their “Bachelor In Paradise” storylines to intertwine. The pair decided to spend time getting to know one another better over drinks before returning to the mansion for a dip in the pool. They’re said to have removed their clothes and hooked up in the pool which raised questions about the victim’s ability to properly consent to sexual contact given the level of alcohol consumed.

According to TMZ, the victim has gotten a lawyer. She’s said to be taking aim at producers who she reportedly feels should have put a stop to the situation before it unfolded.
