Kelley Flanagan is opening up about what led to her breakup with "Bachelor" star Peter Weber.
After previously saying that she and Weber had a "bad breakup," the 30-year-old lawyer revealed more details about the split on Thursday's episode of the "Talking It Out with Bachelor Nation" podcast, sharing that the realization that she didn't see him as her future "spouse" while they were dating made her reconsider their future together.
"I don't think there was one specific thing that led to the downfall for me and Peter. It was just a lot of little things," she said, Us Weekly reported. "Peter and I had a lot of fun, but I don’t know if I looked up to him in the way that I wanted to look up to my spouse."
She compared the 30-year-old pilot with the men in her family, explaining that while she would go to her brothers and father when she needs "sound advice" or has to make "important decisions," she didn't feel she could do the same with Weber.
"With Peter, it was just fun and games," Flanagan admitted.
"I could have fun with him, but I wanted more of a man that I look up to," she continued. "I just didn't look up to Peter in the way that I always hoped I would look up to my husband."
Flanagan was among the contestants during Weber's season of "The Bachelor" in 2020. He ultimately proposed to Hannah Ann Sluss during the Season 4 finale. However, they called it quits while the season was still airing.
Weber then attempted to make things work with runner-up Madison Prewett on the "After the Final Rose" special in January 2020, but their romance also was short-lived.
He and Flanagan were linked together two months later. They first broke up in December 2020 before ending things for good in February last year.
"It ended really badly. I essentially went off on him," Flanagan said in May 2021 in an episode of the "Chicks in the Office" podcast.
At the time, she said they had different interests and personalities. She attempted to adjust but didn't feel her efforts were reciprocated.
Meanwhile, Weber claimed that Flanagan's remarks about their split were "very calculated and very disingenuous." He admitted that he didn't expect the statement from his ex-girlfriend because he still cared for her "very deeply" and she was his "best relationship."
"The breakup was obviously very hard on the both of us," he explained via the podcast "Bachelors in the City." "I've been very open how — and I'm not just saying this — truly, Kelley was the best relationship that I have ever had in my life, and could not be more grateful for the 10 months we had together."
