‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ August DLC Includes Michael Keaton Batman And Classic Comic Skins
As Batgirl makes her debut in “Batgirl: A Matter of Family,” developer Rocksteady has unveiled some of the “Arkham Knight” downloadable content (DLC) that will be available in August. While a new story section has been hinted at, fans should be pleased with the new character skins and Batmobile skins that will be available in August for “Batman: Arkham Knight.”
Easily one of the most noteworthy parts of the August “Arkham Knight” DLC by Rocksteady is the inclusion of the character and Batmobile skins from Tim Burton's 1989 “Batman” movie, starring Michael Keaton. Dubbed the “1989 Movie Batmobile Pack, this piece of DLC features an exact replica of the 1989 Batman costume as well as the movie’s Batmobile. Rocksteady has also stated that there will be tracks based on the first movie and the sequel “Batman Returns.”
Also revealed were the “Bat-family Skin Packs,” which feature three classic skins for Batman, with Nightwing, Robin and Catwoman getting one new skin each. Batman’s new skins include his suit from the “Arkham Origins” prequel, the iconic grey and black Batman and his 1970s outfit that was made famous by Neal Adams. Nightwing will have his original suit from “Arkham City,” while Robin gets his “One Year Later” costume and Catwoman gets her purple costume from the 1990s.
If there are any setbacks, it could be the lack of challenge maps for the characters, which were a highlight of the previous games, particularly in “Arkham City,” which allowed players to choose among Batman, Catwoman, Robin and Nightwing. Another problem is that the DLC won’t be available to PC gamers yet, according to IGN, though many already expected that with the numerous problems that are plaguing the PC version of the game to this day.
Previous announcements stated that there would be more stories in the future, with more villains and more opportunities to play as Catwoman, Nightwing and Robin, so it looks like fans will have to wait until September for that particular pack. Fans will be able to get the DLC right away through the “Arkham Knight” Season Pass, while those who don’t purchase it will have to wait an additional week.
“Batman: Arkham Knight” is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One while the PC version will get re-released once the bugs are fixed. The “Batgirl: A Matter of Family” DLC is available now for consoles.
