Ben Affleck-Jennifer Garner Update: Stars Trying To Reconcile For Kids, Source Says
“Argo” star Ben Affleck and wife Jennifer Garner split days after their 10-year wedding anniversary, but the parents are trying to make their relationship work for their children, Hollywood Life wrote in an exclusive report Thursday. The separation has apparently been good for them as a couple.
Reconciliation could be in their future. “There is still love there that they are trying to figure out. The kids are the great equalizer that they want to stay together for, so it’s a daily battle to see if it will work out. It is 50/50 at best,” the source said. “They are trying to make things work, but it’s really tough. They have been back and forth for years on this subject.”
The celebrities have been able to open up to each other since their divorce and are “more honest and raw,” the insider told Hollywood Life. They want to “make things work” for their three children.
Affleck and Garner, both 43, share three children together: Daughters Violet, 9, and Seraphina, 6, and son Samuel, 3.
Rumors swirled that Affleck cheated on Garner, but infidelity was not mentioned in their breakup announcement. "After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the couple said. "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding."
Affleck reportedly hooked up with the children’s’ nanny, Christine Ouzounian, though that was never confirmed. However, the Oscar-winning actor ended their alleged affair Wednesday, Life & Style magazine reported via OK! magazine. “He cut ties with her recently. He told Christine he couldn’t handle another relationship when things were still so painful and raw between him and Jen,” the source said.
