Ben Affleck, Margot Robbie Rumors: Did ‘Argo’ Actor Cheat On Jennifer Garner?

The Internet was shocked when Ben Affleck announced he and his wife of ten years, Jennifer Garner, would file for divorce. The next shock came when rumors swirled that Affleck had his eye on “Wolf of Wall Street” star Margot Robbie.

After Affleck famously landed the role of Superman in the “Suicide Squad” flick, it was announced Robbie was cast as Harley Quinn. He then “developed serious feelings” for his new co-star, Australian news site Woman’s Day reported. "Ben has had the hots for Margot ever since he saw her in ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street,’” a source told the publication.

But a source for the U.K.’s Daily Mail claimed the rumor is false. The actors have “barely spent any time together” while filming the Warner Bros. movie in Toronto, Canada. Even if Affleck, 42, does have his eye on Robbie, the blonde beauty is reportedly in a relationship with British assistant director Tom Acklerley, the source noted.

Some celebrity-watchers claimed it was Jennifer Lopez, Affleck’s ex-fiancée, who caused the split. The original “Bennifer” always stayed in contact via email, something Garner never liked, a source told The Sun.

In their joint statement, infidelity was not cited as a reason for their split. “After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” they said, a day after their tenth anniversary. “We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time.”

The Hollywood stars have three children together: Violet, 9; Seraphina, 6; and Samuel, 3. They did not share any further information on their breakup, and it’s unlikely they will do so in the future. “This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding,” Affleck and Garner concluded their statement.
