The 31st Goya Awards were presented at the Madrid Marriott Auditorium Hotel in Madrid on Saturday to honor the best in Spanish films of 2016. Known in Spanish as los Premios Goya, the Goyas are Spain's main national annual film awards.
Actor and comedian Dani Rovira was the master of ceremonies for the third time in a row. "The Fury of a Patient Man" won Best Film, as well as Best Supporting Actor, Best Original Screenplay and Best New Director. "A Monster Calls" won the most awards, with nine awards, including Best Director. Actress Emma Suárez won two awards on the same night, including Best Actress for"Julieta" and Best Supporting Actress for "La próxima piel."

Nominated for best leading actress for her role in "La Reina de España," Penelope Cruz stunned in a custom black off-the-shoulder Atelier Versace gown with a Swarovski beaded bra top on one side. She completed the look with a selection of Chopard jewels including pear-cut diamond earrings from the label's Green Carpet Collection, a pear cut diamond ring and oval cut purple purple sapphire, both the High Jewelry collection.

Aura Garrido vamped it up in a black Lorenzo Caprile off-the-shoulder black gown styled with Jimmy Choo lace-up sandals, a Louis Vuitton clutch and choker necklace.
