We’re about halfway to Christmas, and “7th Heaven” alum Beverley Mitchell is getting in the spirit with the filming of her new UPtv holiday movie.

The 38-year-old actress first revealed the general news via Facebook Live a couple of weeks ago, and now International Business Times has learned all of the exciting details.

Currently shooting in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada under the working title “Rock & Roll Christmas,” this will be Mitchell’s third TV Christmas movie and her second as the lead actress.

She starred opposite Stephen Colletti in Lifetime’s “Hometown Christmas” last year, and, now, she’s starring opposite Catherine Mary Stewart (“Weekend at Bernie’s,” “A Nutcracker Christmas”) and David William Pinard (“The Bachelorette Canada”).

The former will play Mitchell’s mother and singing partner, while the latter will play her musician love interest.

According to UPtv, the film follows “an estranged mother/daughter country music duo [who] reunite after 10 years apart to release a Christmas single after a video of them goes viral. Now, they’re going to need a lot of forgiveness and a little Christmas magic to write a song that perfectly captures the spirit of Christmas and [brings] their family back together.”

The 2019 movie not only marks Mitchell’s first flick with UPtv but also her return to the world of music, after over a decade away.

“I’m gonna tease that there also might be some music, maybe a lot of music,” she said during the Facebook video. “Maybe a lot, a lot of music. It’s really fun. I’m gonna be back in the recording studio to record some original music for this film.”

That’s right, brand new songs from Mitchell are on the way!

This news arrives only a year after the star told International Business Times that she had no plans at the time to make new music but that she’s “learned to never say never, so, who knows?”

For those who don’t know about the actress’ singing past, let us point you in the direction of her self-titled debut (and only) album, which came out in 2007. The country project featured 14 songs, eight of which were co-written by Mitchell, and her first single off of the album, “Angel,” was first heard during an episode from the final season of “7th Heaven.”

Filming and recording are still underway, and a release date has not yet been set, but fans can expect to see Mitchell’s UPtv movie during the 2019 Christmas season. Last year, the network’s holiday season of movie premieres ran from the start of November through the end of December.
