Beyoncé celebrated her twin kids’ birthday Sunday as they turned 4-year-old. The 39-year-old Grammy Award winner wished her twin babies, Rumi and Sir Carter, on her official website.
"What's better than 1 gift... 2," Beyoncé wrote on her website's homepage. "Happy birthday Rumi & Sir." The "Homecoming" star welcomed the twins with her husband Jay-Z in 2017 and had shared their photo for the first time on Instagram when they turned a month old.
"Sir Carter and Rumi 1 month today," Beyoncé posted at the time, revealing the names of her babies. The singer also shares her 9-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, with the 51-year-old rapper.
Jay-Z opened up in an interview with The Sunday Times in April and spoke about parenting and raising children with his wife. "Feeling loved is the most important thing a child needs, you know?" he said, adding: "Not 'Here's this business that I’m going to hand over to you, that I'm creating for you.'"
He further spoke about the possibility of his kids not willing to become music or sports professionals. "What if my child doesn't want to be in music or sports?" he continued. "I have no idea, right? But as long as your child feels supported, and feels loved, I think anything is possible."
"[The goal is to] just make sure we provide a loving environment, be very attentive to who they want to be," Jay-Z said, adding: "It’s easy for us, as human beings, to want our children to do certain things, but we have no idea. We're just guides."
While it's not sure what the twins would want to become in life, it seems that Blue Ivy is already in love with music. The nine-year-old already won the 63rd Grammy Award in March for "Brown Skin Girl" in the Best Music Video category. She shared the award with her mother and Nigerian singer, Wizkid.
The music video was created for 2020's "Black Is King" movie, which was helmed by Beyoncé.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z were last seen together performing on "On the Run II Tour" in 2018. The couple got married in 2008 and since then they have been making headlines for their cute PDA moments.
