‘Big Bang Theory’ Season 9 Spoilers: What’s Next For Bernadette And Howard After Episode 15 Shocker?

Oh, baby! Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) are going to have to child proof their apartment on “The Big Bang Theory” because Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and Howard (Simon Helberg) are expecting their first child together. Of course, clueless Howard doesn’t know that yet.

Season 9, episode 15 of the hit CBS series dropped a bombshell Thursday night when Bernadette revealed that she was pregnant. However, she broke the news to a rabbit she found in her hot tub, not her husband.

For those that missed the episode, Bernadette and Howard planned to spend Valentine’s Day soaking in their new hot tub. Their romantic plans hit a snag when Howard discovered a rabbit inside. The two were able to save the rabbit, who they named Valentino, but shortly after the rabbit bit Howard. Afraid that he might have rabbi’s, Howard left Bernadette with the rabbit while he went to the emergency room.

“We’ll find another time to tell him I’m pregnant,” she said to the rabbit.

So, what’s next for the couple? Episode 16 will see Bernadette confess her exciting secret to Howard and the rest of the gang! According to the synopsis, Howard “freaks out” and fears that he needs to make more money in order to be able to provide for his growing family.

“He will experience many emotions,” showrunner Steve Molaro teased The Hollywood Reporter of Howard’s reaction. “We really dig into the entire group and everybody’s reactions to it. They’re mostly positive but obviously with some surprise and concern about what this means for the future.”

Molaro confirmed that Bernadette’s pregnancy storyline will play halfway through season 10. That means “The Big Bang Theory” fans will get to see Howard’s struggle with becoming a father when his own father abandoned him as a child. Bernadette’s emotions will also play out. Long time viewers will remember that Bernadette didn’t necessarily want to have children, and Howard’s maturity level played a big part in it.
