After dominating all the music charts and award shows in 2019, Billie Eilish continued her golden run in the field of music by adding one more feather in her cap. The young artist has been adjudged Spotify’s most-streamed female artist in the world since January 2020.

To celebrate the occasion of International Women’s Day, the streaming giant released a list of female artists who have dominated the charts on the platform in the ongoing year and it was the “Bad Guy” hitmaker who claimed the top spot with 10.3 billion streams from Jan. 1 to March 1.

Recently, Eilish was named the fourth best-selling international artist of 2019 by the International Federation of Phonographic Industry (IFPI), an organization that keeps track of the music industry across the globe. The 18-year-old musician has been raking in accolades since the start of the new year. Eilish started the new year with a bang by becoming the youngest musician to win the trophies for Album of the Year and Song of the Year at the Grammys.

The acclaimed singer also performed at this year’s Academy Awards and became the youngest artist to sing the theme song for a James Bond movie.

The second position on the list went to none other than Taylor Swift. The “Lover” hitmaker shared a screenshot of the coveted list in one of her Instagram stories. She achieved this massive feat just a few days after she was named the “best-selling international artist” by the IFPI.

The Grammy-winning artist joined the list of elite musicians who have received the prestigious award. The list includes the likes of One Direction (2013), Adele (2015), and Drake (2016 and 2018).

Ariana Grande, Halsey, and Camila Cabello claimed the third, fourth, and fifth places, respectively.

On the other hand, Selena Gomez clinched the sixth spot in the rankings. Other notable names in the list include the likes of Dua Lipa, Nicki Minaj, Karol G, and Tones and I.

The streaming service also announced that they will launch the Women's History Month hub, featuring female tracks, playlists, and podcasts as well as playlist takeovers from some of the most iconic women in the industry.
