Taylor Swift Donates $1 Million To Help Victims Of Nashville Tornadoes

Taylor Swift is one of the most influential musicians of this generation and she has taken her popularity to a whole new level by working hard on her music. She is also one of the few celebrities who uses her stardom for a good cause and her latest social media update proves why she has millions of fans around the world.

The 30-year-old songstress took to Instagram and told her fans that she will be donating a particular amount of money to the victims who have been affected by the string of powerful tornadoes that struck Nashville earlier this week. The “Lover” hitmaker posted an emotional message in one of her IG stories and noted that she is “devastated” to see the damage caused by the tornadoes.

Swift further added that she has donated money to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund and encouraged all her fans to donate some amount of money to help the people who have lost their homes and so much more in the wake of the natural disaster.

“Nashville is my home and the fact that so many people have lost their homes and so much more in Middle Tennessee is devastating to me. I have a donation to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund. If you would like to do the same, swipe up,” Swift said.

According to E! News, the ten-time Grammy award-winning artist has donated a whopping amount of $1 million to the relief fund. Other artists like Dan + Shay, Cole Swindell, and Chris Young have also made donations to the relief fund.

According to reports, 24 people have died due to the tornadoes that hit the state of Tennessee.

In related news, Swift was recently named the best-selling international artist of 2019 by the International Federation of Phonographic Industry (IFPI), an organization that keeps track of the music industry across the globe. This is the second time Swift nabbed the numero uno position on the coveted list. In 2014, the “Bad Blood” hitmaker topped the list when her blockbuster album “1989” came out while this year’s award was given for her latest album, “Lover.”

Three singles in the album – “Me!,” “You Need To Calm Down,” and “Lover” – debuted at number one on the global charts of Spotify.

The recording artist joins the list of elite musicians who have received the prestigious award. The list includes the likes of One Direction (2013), Adele (2015), and Drake (2016 and 2018).
