‘Billions’ Star Malin Akerman Weds Jack Donnelly
Actress and model Malin Akerman has tied the knot with her boyfriend and fellow actor Jack Donnelly in Tulum, Mexico on Saturday. The two got married on the beach at Papaya Playa Project.
The couple had a short but beautiful ceremony, according to an insider who spoke to E! News. They were both barefoot and even got their feet wet during the wedding. They reportedly kissed and hugged a lot. Akerman’s son, Sebastian, was also there to celebrate his mom’s nuptials. The couple held hands with him and even swung him up and down.
The 40-year-old bride wore a pink dress, and she had her hair pulled back. She also adorned her hair with a pink rose. Meanwhile, the 32-year-old groom wore pants and a navy vest. As for the guests, they sat on benches by the beach, People has learned.
Akerman and Donnelly got engaged in October. “This sweet and loving man has stepped into our lives and stole both our hearts! I think we're gonna keep him around for a while ;),” The “Billions” star wrote on Instagram moments after the engagement.
The couple was first seen together in March 2017, sharing a kiss in Puerto Rico. The two actors reportedly stayed there to enjoy their free time from work together.
In an appearance on “Live With Kelly and Ryan,” Akerman spoke about how she first noticed the British actor. “He's actually my youngest sister's boyfriend's friend from drama school in England ... and I have known him for the past four years but didn't see him,” the actress said.
Akerman divulged that she only took notice of how cute Donnelly was when he came back from England about a year and a half ago. She also said that it was Donnelly’s great connection with her son that made the actor irresistable. “He was brilliant with my son and that was it, and my heart melted,” she added.
This is Donnelly’s first marriage and Akerman’s second. She was previously married to The Petalstones drummer Roberto Zincone — the father of her son — from 2007 to 2013. They got divorced in 2014.
Akerman is best known for her role as Laurie Jupiter/Silk Spectre II in the 2009 film “Watchmen.” She also appeared in several films including “27 Dresses ,” “The Proposal,” “Happy. Thank You. More. Please,” “Rock of Ages” and “I'll See You in My Dreams.”
She recently starred in “Rampage,” alongside Dwayne Johnson, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Joe Manganiello, Jake Lacy and Naomie Harris. In 2019, she will appear as Molly in the film “Friendsgiving,” which she is also producing.
