Singer Billy Joel and his daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, are staying together at an undisclosed location following her release from a New York hospital over the weekend, a spokeswoman said on Monday.

Alexa Ray, 23, daughter of Joel and his ex-wife Christie Brinkley, was hospitalized after taking an unknown amount of pills, according to police.

Claire Mercuri, a publicist for both Billy Joel and his daughter, who is also a musician, has declined to comment on specifically why Alexa Ray was admitted to hospital.

Billy Joel, of course, is the singer of hit songs Piano Man, My Life, and Just the Way You Are, among others.

Alexa Ray this year debuted her song Invisible, and she performed on television's The Wendy Williams Show.
